WHAT IS AN EYA MEMBERSHIP?

An EYA membership allows you to help us make a difference by building community and environmental health through an understanding of our connection with our social and physical environments. By being a member you are supporting EYA’s vision, mission, and activities by helping us create a stronger network of EYA supporters.

1. Because you are interested in helping to make Vancouver neighbourhoods more socially just and environmentally sound
2. Because you remember what it was like to be looking for your first job
3. Because you believe that being able to make a living doing something you are passionate about is a good thing
4. Because you are starting you career and want it to be about more than a paycheck
5. Because you believe that meaningful work should be an option for people regardless of their social, economic, physical and mental wellbeing
6. Because you want to know more about urban agriculture, community development, green building, international development and more
7. Because you understand that supporting and nurturing youth is critical to community wellness
8. Because we need your support!

HOW CAN I BECOME A MEMBER? 

Becoming a member is easy - just fill out the online membership registration form by clicking here. You will need to provide your contact information for our records (don’t worry, we won’t spam you or sell the info!) and then you'll be directed to our PayPal page where you can pay direct online. There's also the option to download a membership  registration form on the next page and mail it in with a cheque, or you can give us a ring or drop by the office in person to become a member. Once we receive confirmation of your payment we'll get a membership package in the mail to you (so don't forget to provide your home address!). There are four levels of membership to choose from: 

$10 Planting Member - youth membership*

$20 Fertilizing Member - adult membership + 1 youth member sponsorship

$30 Growing Member - adult membership + 2 youth member sponsorships

$40 Harvesting Member - adult membership + 3 youth member sponsorships

*Am i an adult or a youth? You decide... generally, we use 30 years as the youth threshold, but if you feel youthful or feel that $10 is what you can give, you can become a Planting Member. There is no difference between youth and adult memberships but since every adult membership comes with a youth sponsorship, we can guarantee that youth will always be in the majority. After all... it is the Environmental YOUTH Alliance.

Youth sponsorships will be given to youth who have become involved with EYA - youth that have shown an interest in wanting to learn more, spread the word and make things happen. Contact Claire at volunteer@eya.ca if you would like to apply for a sponsored membership.
